2025 Plan Report

By Peter Kojo Amoabil | Project Leader

Introduction

Rural Literacy Solutions is dedicated to enhancing literacy in rural areas through innovative projects and community engagement. As we prepare to launch our 2025 activities in March, we are seeking additional funding support to meet our ambitious targets for the year. This report outlines our key objectives for 2025 and the strategies we plan to implement to achieve them.

2025 Targets

Expanding Book Donations

For 2025, one of our primary goals is to increase the number of books donated to libraries, especially in remote areas. Access to physical books remains crucial for literacy development, and we aim to ensure that even the most isolated communities have access to a variety of reading materials.

• Objective: Distribute at least 5,000 books to 10 new little libraries in remote locations.

• Strategy: We are still engaging stakeholders, donors and raising funds to meet the target.

Boosting Digital Libraries

In line with global digital trends, we plan to enhance our electronic book collection with more translation of digital children books to Dagbani, the mother of beneficiaries and expand the Moodlebox project to cover more schools. The Moodlebox project enables offline access to digital resources, which is critical in areas with limited internet connectivity.

• Objective: Equip 10 additional schools with Moodlebox and increase the translation of books in the African Story book website to Dagbani to at least 50 new translated books for the year 2025

• Strategy: We are Collaborating with SAIDE,SABIER and Wikitongues to meet this target.

Community Engagement

Fostering a culture of reading and supporting literacy programs within local communities is a cornerstone of our 2025 plan. We believe that community involvement is essential for the sustainability of literacy initiatives.

• Objective: Conduct at least 10 community workshops and engage 1,000 community members in literacy activities.

• Strategy: Work with community leaders and volunteers to organize reading events, literacy workshops, and support groups that encourage participation and ownership.

Seeking Funding Support

To achieve these targets, Rural Literacy Solutions is actively pursuing funding from governmental bodies, non-profit organizations, and private donors. Financial support is crucial to cover the costs associated with book procurement, digital infrastructure, and community programs. We are committed to ensuring that every dollar received is utilized effectively to make a lasting impact.

Conclusion

As we move forward with our 2025 plans, Rural Literacy Solutions remains dedicated to bridging the literacy gap in rural areas. By expanding book donations, boosting digital libraries with translations and engaging communities, we aim to create an environment where literacy can thrive. We invite stakeholders and partners to join us in this vital mission to empower rural communities through education.
