Slow progress on Fundraising

Community Meeting in Kiruru Sub-village

Dear Friends,

Unfortunately it's been a tough few months for fundraising, and our dreams for a long-term trial of the telehealth hub for remote communities in Tanzania seems a long way off. We've applied to several EU and UK-based research grants but sadly were unsuccessful due to our project's benefits not significantly impacting back to the UK. Although GlobalGiving has not brought in much money in the past 4 months, it has generated interested from several health NGOs and businesses looking to donate time/software/support as part of their CSR. This has really reinforced our belief that this is something worth investing in, and we're continuing to seek out other fundraising opportunities.

Although we didn't have funding to carry out any more health trials, we have continued to engage with the District Health Officer in Simanjiro, who has given his support in running our telehelath project across 6 sites. The community members from both villages where we ran our first pilot tests are continually asking us when they will have a telehealth system in place, so there is definitely interest; Now all we need to do is find the funding to make it happen!

We would be so grateful if you could share our story with your friends and family to help us reach more donors, and help us bring our vision to life. You could even start your own fundraiser page on GlobalGiving for our project. Or if you know of any good places we should be looking for funding, then please let us know! If they (or you) start a new monthly donation before the end of 17th December, GlobalGiving will match their first donation by 200%. So now is the perfect time to get sharing! For more information on the project, visit our website.

Once again, a massive thank you for choosing to support this project. We will continue to share with you our progress as we work towards bringing healthcare access to thousands of remote Maasai communities.

Best wishes,

Natasha
