Returning after two years without face-to-face contact has been a great joy for everyone, but it also invites us to face some challenges. We are happy to continue building a school where children learn daily about caring for the environment, caring for each other and for themselves. The children are very happy to return to socializing and to be able to learn together.
In these first three months, in addition to the richness of everyday learning, we carried out significant actions involving the school community: Cultivation in the vegetable garden; Celebration of the struggle of indigenous peoples; Oral health actions; Walk through the environment; Storytelling with families.
On the other hand, we recognize that the time without coming to school has had some impacts on children in the process of learning to read and write, and we have invested a lot to continue activating their potential, so that the previous absence is not a detriment to their school career.
As a result of the COVID pandemic, many families have not yet been able to enroll their children in school: we have about 40% of vacancies open, which also has a strong impact on the sustainability of the project.
All the support invested by each one has been essential for the maintenance and continuity of our project. We are very grateful to you, for being part of our story and each of the children!
We would like to really thank those who make monthly donations, because this regularity greatly supports us in the possibility of accessing more children to our school. We hope to get even more collaborators so that in the second semester, after the winter holidays, we can increase the number of children in the school.
Thank you so much for cultivating this project with us!
