Summary: Main objective of the project is to provide braille laptop to students with any kind of visual disability (from low vision and complete blindness to people at risk of losing vision with time) from economically backward and marginalized communities to promote reading and literacy.

As part of it with the support of funds received through Global Giving project we are planning to procure the Dotbook laptop which can help students to read normal content from a pen drive or mail in braille and also to write reports/documents in braille which can be saved and shared as word or other files in text. We are yet to receive required funds to procure braille refreshable device as per plan.

A short note from a Visually Impared achiever Ms Madhu - though I keep hearing lot of audio contents since 40 years it never gave me the satisfaction of reading/writing via braille. Braille is a media which makes Visually Impaired people to be literate - I love reading and writing. Devices like dotbook can help people like me to be in par with others - It helps me to read the content shared by others directly without assistance and to revert back as well without hindrance.
