The Rotary Club of Billericay is seeking to raise funds for our Benevolent Fund from which we make donations to local and international charities each year. The organisations we support in this way typically fall under one of Rotary International's seven areas of focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention; Disease prevention and treatment; Water, sanitation and hygiene; Maternal and child health; Basic education and literacy; Community economic development; and Supporting the Environment.
We regularly receive requests from many deserving charities, some small, local causes, others on an international scale. We need to raise funds in order to be able to respond to these requests whenever possible.
The funds we raise through this project will be donated to various local and international charities, Some donations are to organisations we support on a regular basis. Other donations are made in response to specific requests for support or in response to national and international disasters.
For the charities we support on a regular basis, our donations provide a regular source of income, helping them to budget for their work.
