Over the last few years, we have supported three individuals through their post high school education. These three students were all Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) in our program who, despite incredibly difficult circumstances, showed great potential not only academically, but also in terms of leadership. When we last communicated with you, one of these Young Legends had finished her certificate program. We were excited about how far we had been able to bring her and excited to see her continue her studies with a diploma program which will greatly enhance her eligibility to be hired and ensure she’s able to provide for herself and do even more for her community.
We are so excited to announce that our other two Young Legends have now finished their certificate programs as well!! We are proud of the hard work they have done in order to achieve this accomplishment. While NR supported them with their school fees, each student was responsible to cover the cost of their accommodation and daily expenses in order to attend these schools. They have both gotten jobs in order to cover these expenses, so not only have they been full time students, they’ve had jobs too.
As these Young Legends await their final grades, which will allow them to apply for diploma programs, we want to simply take the time to congratulate them for their accomplishments, but also thank you for the support you have given which has enabled us to get this far with these students. When they finished high school, none of them knew how they were going to be able to continue with their education. And now they have all three finished certificate programs!
