Project Report | Feb 14, 2024
Empowering Boys For Suicide Prevention

By Ola Akinwe | Project Leader

Dear Supporters,

We hope this report finds you in good health and high spirits. We are grateful for your continuous support towards our mentoring program, "Being A Man: Mentoring Boys, Empowering Generations." Your generous donations have enabled us to make positive changes in the lives of many young boys.

In the last quarter, we focused our efforts on addressing some crucial issues faced by boys in our community. One of the key areas we worked on was suicide prevention. We organized a workshop targeting over 250 boys, where we provided them with essential knowledge and practical tools to prevent suicides. Through interactive sessions and expert guidance, we aimed to empower these boys to recognize the signs, offer support, and access necessary help in critical situations. The workshop received overwhelming participation and positive feedback, highlighting the importance and effectiveness of such initiatives.

Furthermore, we recognized the pressing need to address domestic trauma experienced by boys. With your support, we were able to provide guidance and counseling to approximately 10 boys who have been victims of domestic abuse. Our dedicated team worked closely with these boys, helping them understand and overcome the trauma they had endured. By providing a safe space to share their experiences, coupled with therapeutic techniques, we witnessed positive changes in their emotional well-being and resilience.

As we enter the new quarter, we are excited to launch a weekly mentoring program focused on personal values and identity. This program aims to empower the boys by instilling a strong sense of self and a solid foundation of values. By helping them understand their individual strengths and encouraging positive character development, we hope to foster the growth of confident and responsible young men who contribute positively to society. This program will provide opportunities for one-on-one mentoring sessions, group discussions, and engaging activities that effectively communicate the importance of personal values and identity.

Once again, we would like to express our sincere appreciation for your support. Your donations have made a significant impact on the lives of these boys, empowering them to overcome challenges and improve their overall well-being. We will continue to ensure transparency and accountability in our endeavors, as we strive to make a lasting difference in their lives. Your belief in our vision has been the driving force behind our success, and we look forward to your continued partnership in the future.

Thank you for being an integral part of our journey in mentoring boys and empowering generations.
