Ratanang Day Care currently accommodates a little over 90 learners. Through your donations 16 children are 100% sponsored, allowing their parents the opportunity to focus on their studies, or look for work without the worry of their children’s care during the day. Our kiddies (age 3-5 years) have participated in two ECD events hosted by the Derelang Bana (Which means do for the children) Forum namely:
- Sports Day Event where children from Day Care Centres in Mabopane gathered for fun and games. The children had lots of fun playing scooter driving race, relay teams, sack race and tyre race - with one of our girls returning home with a win in the tyre race.
- Child Protection Event in honour of the National Child Protection Week (29 May – 5 June 2023). The purpose of the event was to create awareness of children’s rights, and the importance of advocating for and working together to protect these rights. There were singing, dancing and drama skits by the children, illustrating ways to protect children’s rights.
We are looking forward to a few more exciting events for our little ones, as these provide opportunities to learn and play, outside their routine.
