Recently, staff from HOPE Africa visited the Masande Early Childhood Development (ECD) center in Khayelitsha, meeting the new principal, Khaya. Following the passing of his mother, who dedicated her life to nurturing young children, Khaya vowed to continue her legacy by providing quality education.
However, he now faces significant challenges due to the tough economic climate. Many families are struggling financially, making it difficult for them to pay the fees required for their children’s enrolment. Under his mother’s leadership, the center had substantial support, allowing children to attend for free.
Currently, only four children are enrolled, a stark contrast to the vibrant classrooms of the past. HOPE Africa is partnering with Khaya to provide the much needed support through contributions made to this appeal
