My name is Daniel Carolan and I’m the new Development Associate for 3 Generations. I want to personally thank you for your recurring donations to the Ayni Relief Fund. I am excited to share with you this recent photo along with a message from Puma Quispe, the indeginous community leader in Chinchero, Peru.
3 Generations is committed to indigenous peoples and their struggles to protect their communities, lands and traditions. When the pandemic struck the indigenous communities in Chinchero Peru, 3 Generations responded by creating the Ayni Relief Fund to help support their needs within the community. We are happy to give you an update on the situation from community leader Puma Quispe:
Dear Global Family, our children have benefited so much from all your donations. We have built the school center where children will have access to alternative education online that was discovered in these covid times and they will learn English and other cultural traditions from online books. We have the venue ready and the equipment now and we are in the finishing process. We need to finish the toilets and the electricity is being installed. Hundreds of children will benefit from it and we have also supported our elders with clothing and with food as labor is not fully activated yet. The day to day work is not enough to support the families because of the pandemic and the political crisis in Peru. We need help for women specially to start small businesses that can become sustainable ways of income for the families. We are so grateful for all the support that comes from our Global family. May you be blessed a thousand times more.
- Puma Quispe
Your support and solidarity has been critical for the people of Chinchero to continue to withstand and rebuild during this pandemic.
