Food and Therapy that makes a difference
By Ruth Tenai | President
We are pleased to report on the progress of the food and therapy project for children in Kenya on this platform. After launching the project years ago, we have had an overwhelmingly positive response, with generous donations from both individuals and organizations.
We have now raised over $11,000, which has been enough to provide food and therapy to a large number of children over the years in Mathare slums. We are confident that this project will continue to make a significant difference in the lives of the children in Kenya and are grateful for the support we have received in making it happen. We couldn’t have done this without you.
Moving forward, we are planning to use the funds to provide food and therapy to 100 more children with disabilities. We are also engaging with local organizations and our international partners like you to ensure that the project is implemented in an effective manner.
Our ultimate goal is to provide a better quality of life to children with disabilities in Kenya, and with the support of generous donors, we are confident that this project will be a success.

Mother and child after occupational therapy
Happy New year dear friend and supporter of the Step Up 4 Autism Food and therapy project for children with disabilities in Kenya. We are forever grateful for the fantastic work you helped us accomplish last year.
Through your generosity, we were able to add more than 50 children to the therapy project last year alone. This means that for the 53 Saturdays that were in 2022 50 extra kids got access to free occupational, speech, physical, and play therapy. These are kids coming from the low-income areas of Mathare slums and have disabilities ranging from Autism, Cerebral palsy, and down syndrome.
Apart from the therapy project, we were able to get them access to monthly packages of nutritious foods to boost their health and that of their families. We submit to you that food poverty is real in Kenya and many other parts of the world and the most affected by this are children living with disabilities from low-income areas.
Therefore we are forever grateful for your support and we hope that you choose again this year to make us your charity of choice and journey with us as we transform lives and make a great impact.
Kind regards,
Ruth Tenai.

Swabrah Baris showing the fruits the project gives
The free therapy and food project has been a big success thanks to your continuous, timely, and kind donations. Many families of children with disabilities in Kenya continue to feel the economic impacts of the covid 19 pandemic. With the loss of jobs and hardship to do business such families heavily rely on food donations from various organizations to get through.
The current climate change crisis has not made it any better for such families. The food and therapy project ensures that families that have kids with disabilities get access to food packages every quarter to help them sail through. This is in addition to the free therapy servcies which range from occupational therapy, speech and play therapy.
Your donations ensure that more than 100 such families continue to receive support in form of food packages and free therapy servcies at our Mathare therapy center in Nairobi.
We urge you to do your best to continue assisting these families. On their behalf, we say thank you and God bless you.
Kind regards,
Ruth Tenai
