2018-2019 Closure

By Ana Isabel Cordido | Project Collaborator

School year 2018-2019 has successfully ended!

The last weeks of the program were specially active for our students. First an alliance with @leatherheart made possible a great day of learning about circular economy and the importance of creative thinking and using our imagination to give back life to materials instead of generating more waste. At the end of the day, children had learned how to build a tiny propulsion car with old bottle caps and plastic cups, how to make recycled paper, enjoyed storytellers that shared how toys can be made with old fabrics, reused and paint paper tubes to build a huge sculpture, and the best part: they each went home with unique gifts made specially for them!

Last week we celebrated Quiero MostrARTE, a showcase were all the work and effort from the year is presented to all their friends and also their families. We all enjoyed an art exhibition with all their works in drawing, painting and ceramic, a music presentation featuring cuatro, percussion and choir, accompanied by dancing, and a theater play.

We are recharging batteries to resume after the holidays and receive the children with all the energy and dedication they deserve.
