NEXOS COMUNITARIOS is supporting The Art Festival For Community Development, a project led by our partners from PUCKLLAY. This Festival is a unique opportunity to reduce the distance between the city and the peri-urban areas of the it (mainly inhabited by migrants from the Andes and Amazon) through the use of different expressions of Art.
Nexos Comunitarios identifies two challenges; - Lima is a big city and like in other places, integration of its society could be a big challenge. This challenge generates others that has a big impact in the Peruvian society, one that is in desperate need of an element to integrate our nation. - Lack of quality of education is a big problem for Peru. Although public school is free, the level of it is very low everywhere, which originates a problem in the future of our children.
This Festival is a good opportunity to: - Have a space to integrate our society in a geographical space that usually is not visited by others than their inhabitants. - To develop special bonds through the use of art. Art can help us to express and connect in a way that politics, economy and others cannot. - Last but not least, it is a rare opportunity for children to enjoy of this quality of Art event within their own community and a space for them to expand their creativity.
The Festival of Arts it is part of the Puckllay project. Hence, its origins and outcomes are part of the long term impact planned by the organisation. Everything that will come out of the event, will generate more impact on the activities and projects of our partners at Puckllay. Additionally and more important, the funding needed it is 30% of those needed. The other 70% have already been raised through other activities .
