Our art empowerment activities with the elderly has continued at a fast pace, just finishing up another amazing workshop on Valentine's Day last Friday! This time we promoted animal welfare for rabbits through various forms of painting. These paintings will be sold off with proceeds benefiting rabbit - related local charities.
Each of our acitivites for our older friends focuses on mental stimulation and dexerity ; we map out in advance many of the issues that can or could affect them such as their stamina for the One Art Taipei exhibition, tailoring our own docent tour. This meant we went the day before and spent six hours walking through the hotel, looking through all the artists and their works in each room, decided on a route that was both handicap and senior friendly.
Two other workshops we hosted at their center included a 3D skull creation from upcycled leftover paper and huge portrait frames to pass the Halloween month and in celebration of Valentine's Day as mentioned above, brought rescued rabbits for them to paint. In every session we provided some fun and delicious plant-based snacks, making cinnamon intestines with them, rabbit carrot cakes, and cookies and brownies for their art trip.
Unfortunately the past quarter, we have received no donations for our art empowerment programs but have gone ahead with what we have promised them. We do need regular and continuous support for them so please take a look at the magical creations in this update! If you have any questions do not hesitate to let us know.
