As we enter February, we are delighted to celebrate three of our dedicated K9 unit dogs - Sarah, Diego, and Sugar. These remarkable canines joined our team in 2022 and are turning four years old on February 24th. Time has certainly flown by since they first became members of our formidable unit. Their contributions, alongside all our dogs, are invaluable, especially in the crucial work they do to keep our rhino populations safe.
Alongside our bloodhounds, we also have ammunition detection dog, Drum, who is six years old. Drum has been an invaluable asset to our team, and we are grateful for his service.
In other exciting news, we have our three new bloodhound Bedzer, Watson and Keena currently in training. These energetic youngsters are now regularly covering up to 5km of trails, demonstrating their growing capabilities and potential for future service in protecting our precious wildlife, including rhinos. These promising dogs are scheduled for assessment and certification at the end of February. We are confident that they will make excellent additions to our K9 unit and further bolster our rhino protection efforts.
This quarte, we're pleased to report:
We are incredibly proud of all our K9 unit dogs and their handlers. They work tirelessly to keep our community and our rhino populations safe, and we are grateful for their dedication and service. Your generous support makes their vital work possible.
