Dear Amazon champion,
This second half of the year has been very busy here in the Peruvian Amazon. Our environmental education program of the year is in full bloom and almost 100 children from rural and urban schools are visiting Finca Las Piedras, our research and education center, to learn about science in the biggest laboratory we have available: our forests!
This year's program is called the "Amazon Lab: An experience to advance science in the Peruvian Amazon" and is led by our co-founder and director of operations in Peru, Johana Reyes. Johana got funding from the National Geographic Society for this project and has become a Nat Geo Explorer, and achivement we are extremelly proud of.
Some of the activities of the Amazon Lab include immersive sessions about science in the field, an itinerary science library, and participatory workshops with national and international researchers that share their knowledge and discoveries of the Amazon with them. The experience is unique and truly authentic and we couldn't be happier to have it.
We don't want to go without acknowledging how important your support is to us and how all we do couldn't be possible without you. Thank you!
In solidarity,
