Dear PEPY Friends and Family,
Happy Spring! As we step into this new chapter, PEPY and the PEPY Alumni Association embrace fresh challenges and opportunities to continue empowering youth by expanding access to education and skill development for Siem Reap's low-income rural youth.
Looking back, I see that the past few months were filled with remarkable achievements. Students continuously gained confidence, expanded their knowledge, and prepared for brighter futures. With your unwavering support, the PEPY Alumni Association organized impactful leadership workshops, mentoring, and team-building activities that kept PEPY students in all programs engaged and committed to self-development in our holistic programs.
The first quarter of the year has already been filled with exciting activities across our programs. The Dream Management Program successfully organized various events, including the end-of-year Closing Ceremonies, and quickly followed with the Opening Ceremony for the next group of incoming Dream students; each event engaged more than 1,800 student participants. There were also recurring TED-Talk style group talks and sharing events covering topics such as career readiness, time management, and public speaking, among other exciting events and capacity-building opportunities for PEPY students.
Also, thanks in part to the mentorship sessions provided by the Alumni Association, students in the Scholarship for Higher Education Program have recently improved their overall GPAs in their university classes. Meanwhile, the Learning Center hosted several events, including a Speaking Contest, Graduation for Class of 2025 (Promotion 12)students, and in January, welcomed a new intake of students, among other activities with the support of PEPY alumni. The Youth Innovator’s Space and Incubator Program also organized the 5th PEPY Startup Conference and Festival, bringing together more than 40 participants and over 700 visitors to learn from business owners, companies, and influential speakers with support from the Alumni Association network.
We were also thrilled to host the PEPY Championship Season VII event, held weekly throughout February and into March 2025. Each Sunday featured competitive matches, with both men's and women's teams showcasing their skills and determination. Teams were brought together, mixing PEPY alumni, staff, and current students and fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and community engagement. The event provided a platform for students, in particular, to develop teamwork, leadership, and resilience while strengthening bonds among participants. Enthusiastic support from spectators created a lively atmosphere. The championship has brought in an average of one hundred seventy participants and has promoted physical activity, networking, and student engagement. The championship final occurred on March 2, 2025.
As we enter the second quarter of 2025, the PEPY Alumni Association is excited to take on new challenges, expand our reach, and create even more opportunities for young people to grow and succeed. Your support has been instrumental in making this journey possible, and we invite you to stay connected and continue being part of this movement at www.pepyempoweringyouth.org/subscribe. We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you once again for your support!
Together, let’s make this year even more impactful!
Warm regards,
The PEPY Team | contact@pepyempoweringyouth.org
