Five months of brutal and bloody war for the survival of Ukraine have already passed. These months brought suffering and pain; such destruction that it will take decades to rebuild our beloved country. And all this horror still rages on. And yet, Ukraine persevered its sovereignty, managed to detain the enemy, contrary to many expectations. This is also thanks to the painstaking and timely help of our friends from the West. For this support we are deeply and sincerely grateful. So let's stick together, only that way we can prevail.
Dzherelo Centre continues its work, adapting to the conditions of war time, providing social services to both internally displaced persons and local residents. Here, children or young people with disabilities can receive rehabilitation services, day care, early intervention, help with the selection and configuration of rehabilitation equipment, etc. If necessary, we provide humanitarian aid in the form of food or medicines.
The Centre resumed its services on March 4, and since then we have been able to support about 3,000 people with disabilities with temporary housing and/or humanitarian aid, about 6,000 people received consultations at the Refugee Assistance Post at the railway station, about 300 children receive rehabilitation or day care services daily. Dzherelo's buses were busy transporting children to the Centre's programs, and after back home; they also took children out of town on special occasions – on road trips, etc. Also, for some time, drivers were on duty using Dzherelo’s buses near the city administrations and at the train station - supporting internally displaced persons with disabilities with mobility. These shifts were 24 hours a day - the drivers had special passes that allowed them to move around the city during the curfew hours. In total, they spent about 1,500 hours on duty and provided transport services to 2,000 internally displaced people with disabilities.
We continue our work, overcoming difficulties, working for a good cause. And we supported in this by all of our friends abroad who decided to join in on our struggle. We thank everyone who cares and we believe that very soon this bad dream we are living in will be over, and everything will be Ukraine!
