Dear friend,
Since March, children and teenagers have returned to kindergartens and schools, as they did before the pandemic. The hectic pace of life has been affecting them negatively, increasing their levels of anxiety and stress. Therefore, it is so important that we keep working with and for them.
We have been working with children and teachers from the Polytechnic School of Concón, because we are designing and planning the construction of a greenhouse classroom for their school. This project will take place in the second semester of this year.
Additionally, the older children of the school participated in a farming workshop last March, in our greenhouse.
In May, we visited the children of Conconcito Kindergarten to activate the orchards they have in their own greenhouse, in that opportunity they learned about vermiculture and sustainable farming.
Contact with nature (or grounding) has allowed them to reconnect with themselves, at the same time they could learn by doing, about the environment.
We are very excited, because next month will start the first cycle of our training workshop on sustainable construction. In this opportunity some students from the Polytechnic School of Concón, and other teenagers will learn carpentry, ground construction and water reuse systems.
Regards,
