Wrapping Up the Thai School Year May 24 - March 25

March is the end of the school year here in Thailand, and this term has been busy for our students. Between Coconut Club, learning new topics in class such as directions around town, birthday celebrations, and end-of-year exams, they’ve earned a well-deserved few weeks to relax.

A firm favourite at afterschool Coconut Club is Phuket Monopoly. Since its launch a couple of years ago students have loved immersing themselves in the game. They make their way around the board while building on their English skills, learning the names of iconic landmarks in Phuket in addition to simple sentences such as asking for rent. We certainly have some young property moguls on our hands!

Meanwhile, Primary 3 students have been busy learning all about directions around town in class. Once they were confident with their left and right (which can be tricky for the best of us!) students were blindfolded and directed around the classroom in English by their classmates - always competitive they turned this game into a competition to see which pair could get around the quickest.

Our Mathayom (Senior) 1 class enjoyed a fantastic birthday party to celebrate their 13th birthdays. We host birthday parties for the residential students who live at the school every few months to make sure they are celebrated and enjoy some gifts and some cake! This time around the students celebrated in style by taking part in an exciting football tournament alongside enjoying their favourite snacks brought in for the occasion, all organized by the Kids Club at the Hyatt Regency Resort Kamala.

In February the students were busy revising for their end-of-school-year exams! Our teachers planned revision sessions to make sure students were fully supported, giving them the opportunity to review topics they felt less confident in. We’re sure all our students will have excellent scores in their end-of-year exams, and we look forward to continuing their learning when they return from their holiday in May.

Phuket Has Been Good To Us Foundation couldn’t do any of its crucial work without our generous supporters! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and helped us create a brighter future for these students! Stay tuned for more updates in the new school year.
