You are bringing kids and families out of poverty.
And for me this is perhaps the greatest investment of my whole life; I really appreciate the many friends, donors and sponsors that share in this wonderful activity.
We’re not, like many charitable acts, just sending money to Nepal; we are fully engaged with the team in Nepal and the children we support. From Kg and primary years through to full time employment, together, we are giving these kids a start in life, and in turn they will break the cycle of poverty and be supportive of their families and communities.
We guide them through testing times…
These four students are about to sit their Year 10 SEE exams, your gift has enabled them to go to school, more than that you’ve enabled them to develop and realise their potential.
What we take for granted in the Western World, is a gift and a blessing for these kids, without you they would not be sitting their exams now.
Our regular sponsors will, in a few more years, see what becomes of these students as they go to college and begin their careers. And once they are able to earn an income, we’ll see how they in turn will contribute to the lives of others.
Winners in a win-win world…
Tenzin recently won the ‘Inter NATHM Young Chef’s Competition’, and she got sixty-one congratulatory ‘likes’ on our Facebook page, well done.
However, all the kids we support are on track to be winners, and those of us that help them on their way, like proud parents, also receive a wonderful sense of something worthwhile being accomplished.
When we look at trouble spots around the world, and the ever widening gap between rich and poor, we see a world in a win-or-lose paradigm. And when we share what we have, with those that ‘have-not’, then we reinvent the world in a win-win paradigm. Your giving, is making a real difference AND is changing the world, taking us all into a better tomorrow.
“A family of families”
Raja, and the team in Nepal, are continuing to work with single mums to establish how best we can support these hard-working women. They are some of the most vulnerable, trying to keep a family together, working long hours to pay the rent for the one room that they call home. We see IGWR-Nepal as a ‘family of families’, and as we help them so too, they help each other. Older kids are tutoring younger kids to help them with their schoolwork, and mums, together, can share their burdens and help each other.
Take a moment to appreciate that you are part of this wonderful ‘village’; it is your gift that has given these kids the opportunity that they have so readily embraced.
Financially we always manage, but…
We are on track to meet our 2022-23 budget which is around $140,00, and that is always a relief. However, if we are to do more, and if we want to really change the situations many single-mum families are in, then we will need to build our support base and attract new regular sponsors.
We encourage you to share the story of why you give, tell your friends, and maybe form a group that will regularly donate a small amount that you can pool together. Certainly, every gift makes a difference, and we just want to do more.
IGWR Compliance and Transparency.
We are committed to ensuring that we achieve real outcomes with the funds that are entrusted to IGWR, and we strive to set a standard of practice that will ensure that we operate with a ‘best practice’ set of standards. We have our policies and practices available on our website, and are happy to receive questions, comments and suggestions from supporters that can assist us in making improvements.
Thank you for everything.
You not only enable our work in Nepal but being part of this ‘family of families’ inspires and encourages others. From the kids in Nepal… Thank You for everything
