As you may already know, during the crisis of the pandemic, our Afterschool Programme for underprivileged children and vocational centres (Stitching and tailoring classes) for youth were closed and since then it has been a challenge to revive our centres. However, with your blessings and support, we have reopened our Vocational Centre for Youth. Our team and the youth from the community are both excited and grateful.
Transforming futures has never been an easy process. Back in 2008, when we initially started our empowerment programmes to transform the lives of girls and women by skill development, we faced multiple challenges. Deeply rooted in patriarchy , the male members of the community were unwelcoming of the programme and our team had to face multiple opposition. We were even compelled to abruptly shut down the programme. Though our team led a wonderful start-up for the programme, our efforts faltered and failed because of many other reasons. But thanks to our diligent team on ground who worked relentlessly, we were able to gain the trust of the community. Now, once again, we have to overcome external challenges created as a result of the pandemic and revive our programme on ground. And we need your wholehearted support.
We are happy to announce that we have completed the refurbishment and painting of our learning centres , and it will be in full operation starting this month. We are hopeful we will be able to run both our centres with full capacities as we have for the last fourteen years. As you know, Indian NGOs have been facing an issue with disbursement of funds from GlobalGiving. We are working with GlobalGiving to look out for ways to mend this issue.Your donations will reach us, hopefully soon.
Please continue to support us. Your contribution goes a long way in supporting our vision
We hope we will overcome this period together, because no one understands it better than us that tranforming futures isn't always an easy job.It takes a village to raise a child.
Thankyou
