Thank you so much for your support of this project. I’m writing to share some updates from ActionAid’s emergency response in Afghanistan. We appreciate you taking the time to learn about and act in response to this crisis.
As per our response plan, the initial phase of post-earthquake intervention was completed on June 30, 2022. 1,000 families received ready to eat local food packages (lasting 2-3 days) and 388 families received unconditional cash transfers. An additional team was deployed to Paktika province on July 17, for medium-term deployment, with a focus on providing permanent housing to at least 50 families. As winter approaches and the cold weather begins to settle in, we are looking to mobilize further resources as key needs will be shelter, winterization, and additional food security support moving forward.
