Over the past two years, we’ve seen the Hispanic community celebrate diversity and the accomplishments of Hispanic immigrants. While this chapter of A Fair Shot Fund has now ended, its work lives on through its nonprofit partners. We’re reflecting back on the Fund’s work over the last two years, including at Hispanic Heritage celebrations across the US.
A Fair Shot Fund was founded on the belief that everyone deserves a fair shot at personal, financial, and emotional independence. The Fund sought to enable immigrant shot takers on their journey and touched the lives of many. A Fair Shot Fund pivoted in the wake of the pandemic to provide COVID-19 relief and other resources such as food, along with US citizenship information. It’s supported small businesses and essential workers during a challenging time, and created better opportunities for immigrants and their families.
With support from Hornitos Tequila, our nonprofit partners LULAC, We Are All Human, and West Side United (a project sponsored by Rush University Medical Center) have fought back against discrimination and pushed boundaries. We’re so grateful to these organizations for their partnership. They engaged dozens of volunteers and supported communities across the US including Dallas, Denver, San Diego, Houston, El Paso, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Miami.
Thank you to all who have been part of A Fair Shot Fund’s journey.
