Following a fantastic visit from Memphis Inner City Rugby, and an inspirational appearance at the Chairman's Annual Dinner in September, there is a lot to look forward to in the US!
We are jsut comign up to the start of the coaching season where we look forward to working with more kids in schools and helping them achieve the best they can achieve. PLUS we've got two exciting things of note are coming up in February.
1. On 13th February we are delighted to be co-hosted by Milbank LLP at their New York office in Hudson Yards. The event will be the official launch of Atlas USA, our new US legal entity which will allow greater tax benefits for US donors, and therefore we will be able to send more money towards the amazing projects we support, not only in the US, but also across the Americas. The event will introduce the amazing progress of the Memphis Inner City Rugby project as well as Atlas USA Chairman Laurence Geller. There will be an auction with lots of exciting prizes to be won, as well as ample opportunity to donate generously to our project.
2. Coinciding with the launch is the visit of Charlie Line - the boy who ran onto the pitch at the 2015 RWC Final and (after being tackeld by a security guard) was given the legend, Sonny Bill Williams' winner's medal. They formed an amazing friendship and 5 years on are looking to use that friendship for good. They have started up a Charitable Fund called Gold For Good which will help support projects inspired by Atlas across the world. Charlie is embarking on a tour of Atlas projects, and will be filming, photographing and interviewing the amazing projects we work with - from this we will be able to build up a bank of stories to tell and share with our friends. Memphis will play host to Charlie in February and get him involved right up until March.
