At Ngamba Island, we offer a lifeline to now 54 orphaned and rescued chimpanzees, giving them a safe haven where they can express their natural behaviors in a forest environment that mimics their wild home. We provide everything these incredible animals need;expert veterinary care, rehabilitation, integration with their other chimpanzees, food. Sadly, due to their past traumas, some will never be able to return to the wild. But at Ngamba Island, they have a forever home.
Chimpanzee Trust is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare and conservation of chimpanzees in Uganda. As a Trust, we rely heavily on fundraising efforts to support basic operations at Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary which cost about $260,000 annually. The donations received from generous donors help us to reduce on the financial burden on running the sanctuary.
Funds raised will go directly towards meeting the costs of: Feeding the chimpanzees with nutritious food Covering vital routine veterinary expenses Supporting our dedicated animal keepers who provide round-the-clock care and attention
The project will help cover some of the costs for feeding the 54 chimps for 1 year.
