After our interim report finally we can say - 53 devices are donated! We are very happy, you can see the smiles of the children! Thank you donors and partners!
FDB paid Lenovo - Bulgaria, and paid with its own money for the delivery of the devices to the addresses of children from all over the country. Now we would like to recover our funds (about 1200 euro more). After that we'll stop raising funds for this project.
Now the project is still open for donations http://goto.gg/47581 till a goal 7000 euro will be fully funded!
(On July 13, FDB announced the criteria for selection of beneficiaries: students from 7th to 12th grade in state or municipal Bulgarian schools. Among the main requirements, in addition to the family income, were the success in school and absences in the previous school year, a recommendation from the school and a personally written cover letter (why he/she thinks he/she should be choosen to receive a laptop, how the donation will affect his development and how it will help his family. DBF developed application forms, anyone could download and DBF gave a deadline for receiving the package of documents by the end of August (https://bit.ly/3j0mb77)
Meanwhile, the DBF has begun negotiations with donors to provide as many devices as possible, with the best possible balance between price and quality. DBF has always been strong in attracting partners to its good deeds. In this case, we found it in the person of Lenovo - Bulgaria: we agreed that at a value of just over 10,000 USD (including 5000 USD from the FDB funds), we will buy not 15, not 20, but 43 devices! And separately, the company will donate another 10.
Now all 53 children already have received their brand new Lenovo V15 with a licensed Windows Pro. )
