Introduction
Impact Youth Foundation has continued to make significant strides in providing free education to rural children and youth in Ghana. This report highlights key activities and achievements over the past four months.
Career Guidance and Development
To equip beneficiaries with the necessary skills for the labor market, Impact Youth Foundation organized a career guidance and development workshop. Twenty beneficiaries who had completed Junior High School and Senior High School participated. Resource personnel from the Hud Group provided valuable insights on discovering purpose, building career paths, and developing career plans. This workshop empowered beneficiaries to make informed career decisions and achieve their professional goals.
Community Outreach and Environmental Awareness
In June, Impact Youth Foundation conducted an outreach in Aflao, Volta Region. Primary and Junior High School students from three schools participated. The outreach focused on developing character and leadership as well as sports skills of the participants.
A clean-up exercise was conducted along the coast of the Volta Lake, promoting Sustainable Development Goal 6, which aims to ensure access to safe drinking water and sanitation for all. This initiative served as an opportunity to sensitize the community about the importance of environmental conservation.
Each School in attendance was presented with footballs, basketballs and Tshirts to encourage sportsmanship and sports development.
Achieve for School Program
Impact Youth Foundation continues to implement the Achieve for School program in partnership with Junior Achievers Ghana. This program targets timid, low self-esteem, and absentee students, providing them with skills in communication, teamwork, public speaking, and reliability. Twenty-five primary and junior high school students are currently enrolled in the program.
Homework and Tuition Club
The ongoing homework and tuition club remains a vital component of Impact Youth Foundation's efforts. This club provides academic support to students, helping them to improve their grades.
Conclusion
Impact Youth Foundation has demonstrated its commitment to providing comprehensive support to rural children and youth in Ghana. Through career guidance, community outreach, and academic support programs, the foundation is empowering beneficiaries to achieve their full potential and contribute positively to their communities.
