Hujambo (Hello)! In early 2019, I will be travelling Kenya to connect with thirty of GlobalGiving's nonprofit partners driving community-led change across sectors. As a field traveler, I will be working to better enable our partners in becoming more sustainable, connected, and responsive, in order to optimize their community impact. My work will involve conducting one-on-one consultations at project sites, leading workshops, and providing support in building partner crowdfundraising capacity.
Kenya is faced with many development challenges including poverty, disease, and unemployment. Local communities face multiple barriers to overcoming these challenges, which makes it difficult for a single-intervention or targeted program to successfully create a sustainable impact across the country. In order to help widespread positive change happen, GlobalGiving puts teams on the ground to provide training, tools and support to empower local changemakers who understand communities' needs best.
This is where you come in! Your donations will contribute to expenses incurred while traveling across Kenya to provide a highly personal, consultative experience to our partners. Your support will enable me to unlock the collaborative potential between GG and grassroots organizations through strengthening existing relationships and establishing new partnerships. My role will be to support partners in accelerating local development themselves with the tools they need to do so most effectively.
