INTRODUCTION

This project report of Tabitha Maison Foundation (Tabitha Home) covers the goals attained within the month of March 2021 - June 2021. These projects are in partnership of the Sustainable Development Goals and were effective because of your consistent support.

PROJECT PROGRESS

  • RESIDENTIAL BENEFICIARIES

Education

Two (2) of the residential beneficiaries sat for the Joint Admission Matriculation Board Examination which is a criteria for entrance into University in Nigeria. They are currently preparing for West African Examination; the success of these examinations will usher them into Undergraduate level.

May 2021, the residential beneficiaries started the third term (promotion term) of their academic calendar.  Presently, there are four (4) undergraduates, Nine (9) senior secondary school students, fifteen (15) junior secondary school students and eleven (11) primary/nursery school pupils. There is an increase in junior secondary school and primary school as (2) beneficiaries were recently placed in the shelter facility of Tabitha Maison Foundation for rehabilitation and protection.

Medical

Iyanu, the twelve (12) year old residential beneficiary of Tabitha Home and a stage five (v) Chronic Kidney Disease patient has kicked off the pre-surgery treatment in preparation for kidney transplant. He is on close monitoring by his medical consultant and Nephrologist from University College Hospital Ibadan, Nigeria and St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos Nigeria.

Permanent Building Project

This project is on the last stage as plumbing, electrical and plastering have been completed. Other furnishing processes are ongoing; this is to ensure that the present and potential residential beneficiaries have access to conducive and better learning facility.

Leadership in Agriculture Training

March 2021, Leadership in Agriculture Training with focus on Poultry kicked off. The activity was on week-end basis for the residential beneficiaries and facilitated by an Agricultural Professional, Kayode Bamgbose. The theoretical part of the project has been completed as the practical aspect is ongoing.

The aim of the project is to empower the children with agricultural skills in order to advocate and promote opportunities to tackle food insecurity and severe malnutrition.

Instagram Live

In commemoration of International Women's Day 2021, the children engaged the Instagram audience on a live session discussing the topic "Achieving an equal future in COVID19 world". They shared their thoughts on the world's present situation, their personal account of the marginalisation against women in male dominant profession and the need for the world to create opportunity for all genders as "all hands needs to be on deck".

Craft Plus: Introducing African Soap Making

As one of the ways to encourage sustainable entrepreneurship amongst young people, an african soap making class was organized for selected beneficiaries who have interest in the field. The training exposed the children to the manufacturing and the marketing aspects of the products. The training and structuring of this department is ongoing.

In-house Projects and Supports

For the total development of every child in the shelter facility, the in-house projects were functional all through the month. These include;

- The book club arm called Reading culture
