Support Yessica for her Nursing Internship

Dear Supporters of Gabriela and Yessica,

Thanks to all of you, these two girls have completed their studies in Early Childhood Education and in Auxiliary Nursing. Your contribution has been so very important and has allowed these girls to complete their studies and have a profession.

We have included here excerpts from the letters the girls have written talking about their experiences as well as their last report cards and a picture sent by each girl. (Google translate does a very good job of translating nowadays.) We look forward to sending their graduation pictures in one of our next newsletters.

FROM GABRIELA:

Queridos padrinos,

Les envío un cordial saludo y un fuerte abrazo, cargados con todo mi agradecimiento por el apoyo incondicional que me brindan a través de la Fundación Helping Hands. Gracias a su generosidad, puedo hacer frente a los gastos que conlleva mi formación, y eso es algo que valoro profundamente.

Quiero compartir con ustedes algunas de las emocionantes y experiencias que he vivido. Hemos estado inmersos en una serie de actividades, tanto sociales como académicas, que han enriquecido mi vida de diversas maneras. Una de las más destacadas fue nuestra participación en la feria exposición de proyectos, centrada en fomentar la ciencia y la investigación. Con gran entusiasmo, mi equipo presentó nuestro proyecto sobre habilidades cognitivas desde la educación inicial. Nos sentimos muy orgullosos al obtener el primer lugar, con un total de 100 puntos, lo cual fue el resultado directo del arduo trabajo y dedicación que invertimos en este proyecto.

Con todo mi cariño les adjunte una foto, para que puedan observarlas. Me despido deseándoles siempre:

Que Dios les bendiga y les permita seguir realizando esa noble labor.

At the end of the first semester of 2023 there was a balance of Bs 3000 for Gabriela for the second semester. We have now spent the full Bs 3000 on Gabriela concluding the support for her.   Gabriela has a 91% average.

FROM YESSICA:

Queridos padrinos,

Estoy estudiando la carrera de enfermería, a nivel técnico medio, pero luego me gustaría llegar a la licenciatura de enfermería.  Concluí mis prácticas comunitarias de tres meses dónde se me destinó al municipio de Caranavi donde viví una experiencia única, con varias emociones porque fue agradable, agotador y sobre todo teníamos que poner muchos valores éticos y morales y el conocimiento suficiente para saber hacer nuestro procedimiento correctamente. En estos momentos voy en la elaboración de mi proyecto de salud y hace poco también entregué y defendí en una exposición mi caso clínico de mis prácticas hospitalaria y me fue bien. Fue un momento de muchos nervios por mi primera experiencia en ese ámbito serio.

Y todo eso se los debo a ustedes mis padrinos. Muchas gracias, Yessica

At the end of the first semester of 2023, there was a balance of Bs 2795 in Yessica’s account. We have spent BS 2800 on Yessica for the second semester, although she asked to reserve her 11^th payment for 2024 for her graduation expenses. Yessica has an 80% average.

Thank you all once again for making it possible for Gabriela and Yessica to realize their dreams of becoming professionals and to be able to look forward to a better future.

Report of Yessica and Gabriela

THANK YOU TO ALL OF OUR DONORS FOR GABRIELA AND JESSICA

Thanks to your donations for the two girls, Gabriela and Jessica, we are happy to report that both girls are advancing very well in their practical studies. Without your support Helping Hands would not be able to give the opportunity of an education to so many young Bolivian girls.

Gabriela has been able to pay for her transportation expenses and all the school materials she has had to buy for the children in the classes where she is doing her practical studies. We look forward to Gabriela finishing her studies in Early Childhood Education by December of this year. In the photo below, Gabriela is the student teacher on the left.

*ESFM S. de Huata is the name of Gabriela’s school.

The total amount donated for Gabriela was $ 803 which comes to Bs 5500 at the official exchange rate of Bs 6.85 to $ 1.00. Of this we have spent a total of Bs 2500 up to the month of June. This leaves a balance of Bs 3000 to cover Gabriela’s 6 remaining monthly payments.

With your contributions, Yessica has been able to keep up with her expenses for transportation to the hospitals where she is doing her practical work, as well as her food and rent as the full-time practical studies in Nursing have made it impossible for Yessica to continue her part time job. Yessica enjoys very much her profession and looks forward to finishing her studies in January or February of 2024.

*INST. JESUS DE NAZARENO is the name of Jessica’s Institute.

The total amount donated for Yessica was $700 which comes to Bs 4795 at the official exchange rate of Bs 6.85 to $ 1.00. Of this we have spent a total of Bs 2000 up to the month of June. This leaves a balance of Bs 2795 to cover Yessica’s 7 remaining payments.
