Sharing & Caring is a heartwarming initiative by YouMeWe NPO, designed to bring the magic of Christmas to children living in care homes across Japan. Through this program, we aim to spread joy, foster a sense of belonging, and share the holiday spirit by providing personalized gifts and essential items to children who might not otherwise experience the festivities.
Digital citizenship is vital for orphaned children in Japan, as emphasized by YouMeWeNPO, because it bridges the digital divide, empowering them with essential skills for independence and future careers. Access to digital education equips these children with tools for employability in Japan's tech-driven economy while fostering social inclusion and reducing isolation. By teaching coding and online safety, YouMeWeNPO ensures they can navigate the digital world responsibly and creatively.
With the Sharing & Caring initiative addresses a deeply human need: the creation of joy, connection and a sense of belonging during a time of the year often marketed by celebration and togetherness. Giving presents to orphanages fulfils this need by ensuring that children who might otherwise feel excluded or overlooked experience the warmth and happiness of the holiday season.
Our primary mission is to help children growing up in institutionalized homes prepare for life outside the home once they reach the age of 18. We offer support programs that increase a child's opportunity to become a productive and financially independent young adult in their community. This means helping kids develop and hone critical skills such as language, writing, digital literacy, etc., and ultimately increase confidence levels that can lead to new opportunities and choices in the future.
