Greetings from Guatemala! We hope this message finds you well. This past Saturday our students harvested their carrot and cucumber crops and we had to share some of our lessons learned throughout this process. We have learnt many lessons along with our students. We have learned about patience as we wait for our vegetables to grow, we have gained a new appreciation for the effort it takes to put vegetables on our tables, and we have learned about better techniques to have more success in our future crops, such as daily watering, saving our broccoli crops for cooler weather, buying starter plants versus seeds and the importance of establishing a weekly routine for fertilizing and for spraying insecticide. Finally, we want to share you some photos of our students enjoying harvesting the fruits of their labors. Your support has made this great project possible.
Thanks again,
Colleen
