Medical Care, food supplies and Rehabilitation:
A portion of the donation was directly used to fund medical treatments, veterinary care, and rehabilitation efforts for injured and orphaned primates which include food for the monkeys under care. This ensured that they received the necessary support to recover from their injuries and adapt to a safe environment before being returned to the wild.
Release and Monitoring of Monkeys:
The donation supported the ongoing rescue and release programs, which allowed the monkeys to gradually re-integrate into their natural habitat. Monitoring these animals for a few months is essential to ensure they can survive and thrive in the wild, making this a crucial step in the rehabilitation process. A total of 3 colobus and 5 vervets were released.
Transportation and Rescue Vehicles:
Another significant portion of the funds was used for the operational costs of emergency rescue vehicle. The vehicle was crucial for responding to distress calls quickly and rescuing primates in immediate danger, with a minimum of 2 welfare trips conducted per day, the donation helped cover the costs of transportation, including fuel and vehicle maintenance, ensuring that emergency calls were attended to promptly.
