Challenge

This project aims to address the challenges posed by increased wildfire risk, which threatens both the environment and local communities. It seeks to support efforts that will enhance preparedness and response capabilities, potentially mitigating the negative impacts of future incidents. By focusing on preventative measures and community engagement, the project hopes to contribute to a more resilient ecosystem and improve the ability to cope with environmental challenges.

Solution

This project will contribute to addressing the problem by supporting efforts to enhance capacity and preparedness. It aims to provide resources and facilitate activities that may improve the ability to respond to and mitigate environmental challenges. By focusing on strengthening preventative measures and fostering community involvement, the project aspires to contribute to increased overall resilience.

Long-Term Impact

Climate change is having a significant impact on the communities in the area where the interlinkages between climate change, human wellbeing, and biodiversity are complex. Overdependence on rain-fed agriculture and the presence of globally significant wildlife gives rise to a sensitive ecosystem and fragile situation. This project will build the climate change resilience of local communities and the Conservancy, and help foster a world where people and wildlife co-exist harmoniously.
