The suspension of U.S. support has severely impacted LGBTIQ individuals living with HIV in Uganda struggling to access treatment. Many now face financial barriers, Drug stock outs, with healthcare providers requiring consultation fees for ARV refills, exacerbating poverty and treatment interruptions.
This project aims to remove financial barriers preventing LGBTIQ individuals from accessing ARV refills, ensuring uninterrupted treatment. By addressing the challenge of consultation fees and drug shortages, it will improve adherence to HIV medication and prevent treatment interruptions. Additionally, the project will work to reduce healthcare discrimination, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for key populations in need of HIV services.
This project will cover consultation fees for 200 LGBTIQ individuals refilling ARVs, ensuring continued access. It will also engage stakeholders to address drug shortages and discrimination while supporting community awareness and advocacy efforts.
This project will improve adherence to HIV treatment, reducing health risks for LGBTIQ individuals. It will also strengthen advocacy for inclusive healthcare policies, fostering long-term systemic change. By addressing financial barriers and engaging stakeholders, it paves the way for sustainable, equitable HIV services.
