Rural communities in Guerrero need food and water. The families working hand in hand with Cooperacion Comunitaria in the comprehensive reconstruction of their homes and crops are now facing new losses and damages, both in Acapulco and Malinaltepec: total loss of crops, low-lying communities flooded, homes destroyed and landslides.
On the night of September 26th, Hurricane John made landfall once again, striking the communities that had already suffered severe damage 11 months ago due to Hurricane Otis. The families working hand in hand with Cooperacion Comunitaria in the comprehensive reconstruction of their homes and crops are now facing new losses and damages, both in Acapulco and Malinaltepec: total loss of crops, low-lying communities flooded, homes destroyed, and landslides on the roads.
Starting today, we are launching a collective fundraising campaign to bring corn and supplies to the communities that lost their crops.
Your support will provide food and water to the communities affected by the hurricane John.
