At EATSF, this is a bittersweet moment as we prepare to give Oreo the retirement she has so truly earned. Oreo has been part of our family since 2017. Oreo is a gentle and patient soul who has touched many lives through her work in both our therapeutic riding and unmounted horsemanship programs. After years of dedication, it is now time for her to enjoy a peaceful and loving retirement at the Retirement Home for Horses at Mill Creek Farm in Alachua, Florida. This is how you can help Oreo!
Mill Creek Farm is nestled on 335 acres of serene, tree-lined pastures, protected by a perpetual conservation easement that ensures the land will always remain a haven for horses in need. Every horse at Mill Creek receives personalized care, including veterinary attention, special feeding, weekly grooming, and, of course, an abundance of carrots and affection. At Mill Creek, horses are free to roam, without ever being ridden or worked again, and can live out their days in peaceful tranquility.
To support Oreo's transition to Mill Creek Farm, we would like to sponsor her retirement at $600 each year during her retirement. Additionally, we are hoping to raise $750 to help cover the cost of Oreo's transportation to Alachua. As a nonprofit organization, Mill Creek Farm, like EATSF, depends on the generosity of individuals to sustain its mission. EATSF is proud to support Mill Creek Farm throughout the duration of Oreo's retirement.
This partnership creates a lasting legacy for Oreo. For Oreo, the immediate impact is the peace and comfort she will experience in her retirement. In the long-term, it shows the kindness of those who supported Oreo and the compassion toward animals who have worked hard for us. This also helps restore a wonderful partnership between EATSF and Mill Creek Farm, as we strongly support what they do in providing retirement horses their forever home.
