Mission

Our mission is to protect and promote human rights, and to strengthen constitutional democracy in South Africa as part of a broader civil society movement. Specialist legal practitioners and activists staff each of our programmes. Our approach to social justice includes strategic litigation, advocacy, law reform, human rights education, and community mobilisation and support. We work in three offices across South Africa, and this allows us to identify trends and issues arising across the country, and across vulnerable groups, that may benefit from strategic impact litigation.
