Congress is increasingly challenged to build consensus and solutions to critical political issues, across the widening divides of the country. This means not only that national-level politics often leaves large portions of the country without their voices heard and needs addressed, but also that in times of crisis or critical decision-making, the U.S. is vulnerable if mechanisms of deep and effective communication across party lines cannot be developed. We aim to change this.
We will coach Congressmembers in empathy-based strategy to mediate powerful solutions to political stalemate and discord. Through networking & innovative outreach approaches like personalized briefings & role-play demos, we will build relationships with Congressmembers where (in small groups/one-on-one) they revise political strategy, relationships, & communication by identifying the core shared human needs UNDERLYING parties' positions/actions, & facilitating solutions that work for EVERYONE.
Our initial target is 15 Congressmembers across the political spectrum. This will be the basis of a peer-support network and mediation mechanisms at the national level of politics, that facilitates deep and honest conversation about what really matters underneath positions & rhetoric, to arrive at solutions going forward. This will impact politics at every level, and political culture in the U.S., as well as the possibilities for peace abroad. Note: This will likely take more than $5,000!
